Edit navigation
What is Naview and how to use it
Naview
is a navigation preview tool for rapid information architecture prototyping from
Volkside.
It helps information architects design and visualise
a new navigational structure and aims to bridge the gap between
card sorting and IA user testing.
You can create and edit your information architecture easily in a spreadsheet or a tab-indented text file. To get a feel for the navigation just copy and paste your IA into Naview on the left, type your email address or Twitter username and click Preview navigation.
- Read a blog post on Naview for how to use and examples
- Watch two videos on Naview that introduce basic usage and navigation sharing
- Follow Naview on Twitter for updates
For a super-quick demo just click Preview navigation (3) without changing anything else.
We'd love to hear your feedback!
Update 26/11/2009: We are currently working on a new version of Naview. In the meantime, if you are running into the limitations of this version (see below), please get in touch and we may be able to increase some limits slightly for your email/username:
Also, please contact us with your suggestions and improvement ideas. You can message @naviewapp on Twitter, too.

Why we are asking for username...
Quite simply, we like to know who is using our software. All use is logged to help guide further development. You can now enter an email address as an alternative to you Twitter username. Read our privacy statement.
(Please be aware that by using the sharing functionality there is a slight chance of third parties getting access to your navigation structure and username. If in doubt, give it a miss.)
